Anxiety: What is it?
Anxiety is the mind and body's reaction to stressful, dangerous, or unfamiliar situations. It can be a sense of uneasiness, distress, or dread. |
What does it look like for children?
agitation, avoidance, restlessness, inattention, crying, stomachache or headache, and refusing to go to school |
How can teachers help?
Validate student's emotions and feelings, mindfulness techniques, deep breathing, essential oils, frequent breaks throughout the day, maintaining connections with the students |

help manage anxiety not eliminate it set positive expectations incorporate movement and dance positive self talk do not ask leading questions (are you nervous for the test?) |
